Hiro's little wrinkles on top of his head, the ones between the ears, melt my heart. You have no idea how much I want a Hiro of my very own. And I agree, you've the sweetest voice.

brilliant. best summerhouse substitute ever. i just realized that i should get a doll house again just exactly for this purpose - to take tiny escapes. when i was small nothing at all was more lovely to me than a day spent with my doll house. i did not even have any dolls to go in it - just the little wooden house that my father had made for me - painted cornflower blue - and all of its little pieces and parts. the best part of having children will be getting one again - and reading children's books. yes.
thank you for this reminder of simple perfect things. but then again, your blog is filled to bursting with those - so thank you for all of them! :)
geneviève, do it - get yourself a dollhouse. Playing is the greatest therapy. And the handmade are the best ones, hope you have your father's house left.

Brilliant little video and I loved the choice of song. I used to dance around my flat to that song (when I had a little cat) so I liked it all!

the narration/ dialogue leading to the song is wonderful, as is the editing. i've enjoyed your still images for so long and now this is a nice treat to see this other facet of your work.
