This snowy landscape is from my childhood winters in Åmot. It was real winter.
The drawing are suppose to be me and my siblings. I guess this picture mirrors
my romantic dream of the little cottage in the woods.

Mary Ellen Mark, have been a favorite ever since I was about 22 and discoverd her.
It´s her who´s taken the photo of my look alike. I feel such a kinship with this woman.
This is what I´m going to look like in a couple of years.

I really like Sanna Annukka´s new print.

Thanks for the encouraging comments on the last post!

All that's missing in the picture is smoke coming from the chimney! It makes me wish for snow despite the fact that I am having an open studio on Saturday.

I can just feel myself skiing down to the cabin for a little hot chocolate. Waiting for the first BIG snow here in New England.

How funny and cute that everyone is looking the same way...what is happening off shot? A large Elk crashing through the undergrowth? Or a giant snowball coming your way? Or maybe just the light on the trees is captivating it's young audience!

When I see the winter photo, I am filled with longing and questions! What are your memories of your time there? Your blog gives me access and escape to a world very different from mine and even though I have always been a bit bookish I find your blog fits my life these days (two young children) and satisfies those longings. Thank you.

Gertrude's granddaughter, I had a tiny, wrinkly grandmother who took us (not all of us in the same time) on the sledge out to the woods to play and look for the big moose (!) Cooked us hot chocolate and told us stories about mountain trolls at bed time. She is the heart of my memories from Åmot :)

Somehow I missed this picture before. So sweet and remote. I feel like I want to escape to the woods too these days. And live in a meadow filled with flowers in the spring!
