White is nice

One day a couple of weeks ago I persuaded Otto to paint one of the walls in his room yellow. The same night I got stomach sick, and the morning after I just couldn´t stand that yellow color! From the beginning I couldn´t ask him to change the color back, so I´ve kind of squint my eyes everytime I´ve went in to his room, to stand the view. Guess if I I was happy when he suggested that we should paint the wall white again. I runned to the store, before he would change his mind. And also, this time I manage to persuaded my husband to paint some other walls white. Ah, that bright and light "color".

Emma did a nice association, Paul Klees hand puppets, with Ottos handmade charachters. Think I have to get that book.

Ah, there is nothing like white. That keeps happening in our house too. A colour seems like a good idea but it's not long before white seems like a better one!

i like yellow, but i can see how it might not work in every space... white,ivory,eggshell...etc all perfect.

haha, stackars Gul.
Färg i all ära, men vitt rular fett. ;)

Gör som Mr Bean, spräng en bomb i vita färgburken! fint gul-foto!

Hi! white is the best..it brightens the room whole a lot better than any other colour, in my opinion.
I'm enjoying your blog very much by the way!

That is so funny! I like that yellow, but when you have an aversion, nothing but changing it will do. That white is so nice, and your husband is so nice for painting it!

It happens to me too. Once you try white for a room, no colour can look better. And it also happens to me with clothing: If there's a variety of colours and you try black first... Forget about the other colours!

I also love white. For me it represents a pure atmosphere!

Oh yes, you should definitely buy the Paul Klee book! The content is amazing, of course; but the book itself is lovely: a nice squarish format, a clear layout, and the essays are interesting in a simple, modest way. I'm sure your children would love it, too!

he he nice to see i'm not the only one who can obsess about wall colours! i had painted a wall a light shade of beige-y pink, but now i feel like it needs to be back to white. in the meantime, i just shudder everytime i look at the wall!

I agree with you.... white is the way to go... we are going to paint all our walls white once we pull some walls out and put some new ones in, I cant wait! Parts of our kitchen are still pink (person before)...its not good even when you dont feel ill.

Okay, that is a hilarious story. That happened to me once with a sickeningly sweet pink in my bedroom. Right after I finished painting, I went to the store and bought blue paint and redid it. I guess we learn as we go along. Though I must say, the yellow looks ravishing with the grass carpet! By the way, where did you get the grass? I'd love to get a square of it.

melissa, the grass is from a wholesaler that sells all kind of strange stuff.

The photo of him lying on the green against the yellow is wonderful (even if you're not too happy about the colour). Your space looks amazing, love the high ceiling and period features.
