I'm a rookie, with blisters in my hands. Nobody told me how hard it was to rake grass.
Cutting - no problem, but to rake.

  3. Get your self a nice pair of work gloves. They will make all the world of difference during your outside chores. I have lived most of my life in places where I have to take care of things in the yard. I have learned!

I am enjoying your photos of the house. Better than a home magazine.

  4. We always buy a mulching mower so we never rake and the grass clippings are left behind and feeds the lawn.

  5. Gorgeous scandinavian long grass!

    That would be hard work.

  6. Love the little green dishes and the swath in the green, green grass! Are those lingonberries?

    Wish I was there!

  8. ooh yes, we are putting in garden bed at the moment, so digging up the soil, hoeing and raking, and I have a line of little palm blisters. hard work, but so worth it, and so enjoyable in many ways.

  12. Lovely World, will get me a good pair of working gloves as soon as possible, thanks.

Make mine Mid-Century, actually it was though to cut it not only beacause of all the work, but because the grass looked so nice just at is was. Long, green and soft. But listening to those who knows more about gardening than we are, we decided to cut it. I just bough me a big book about the basics in gardening, looking forward to learn more about the art.

fairemoon, the berries are red and black currants from our garden.

Thanks for nice comments about the photos :)

  13. Sherri B, as it is today we put the raked grass on a compost pile but maybe a "mulching mower" is more enviro-friendly, have to look it up. Thanks for the tip.
